內容簡介: From Comrades to Bodhisattvas is the first book-length study of Han Chinese Buddhism in post-Mao China. Supported by over a decade of ethnographic research, it provides an intimate portrait of lay Buddhist practitioners in Beijing who have embraced a religion that they were once socialized to see as harmful superstition. The book focuses on the lively debates that take place among these new practitioners in an unused courtyard of a Beijing temple, where laypersons gather to listen to the fiery sermons of charismatic preachers, and seek solutions to personal moral crises.

19歲巴基斯坦女孩遭榮譽處決 紀錄片《河中女孩》獲奧斯卡獎

一片漆黑。19歲的女孩莎芭（Saba Qaiser）奄奄一息地漂在河上，她奮力抓了一根枯枝，順著水流緩緩移動到岸邊。「救救我，救救我」舉步維艱的莎芭沿著公路前行，用盡力氣向呼嘯而過的車輛求救。最終她被送往醫院急救。這是獲奧斯卡紀錄片提名《河中女孩：寬恕的代價》（A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness）真實事件，描寫主人翁莎芭被親生父親及叔叔槍殺，塞進袋子中扔入河裡，最後卻奇蹟生還的故事。

在巴基斯坦平均每年超過1,000名婦女死於「榮譽處決」（honour killings），大多數是家族男性如父親、丈夫或兄弟，殺死自己的女兒、妻子及姐妹。原因大多是指責女性使家族蒙羞，例如坐在陌生男子身旁太久而遭到猜忌。而莎芭的情況則是，她選擇嫁給心儀的男子。

婦女權益團體表示，蓄意謀殺近親的男性並不會遭到起訴，因為巴基斯坦的法律要求受害者親屬寬恕兇手。然而，巴基斯坦的法律乃根據伊斯蘭法。

導演奇諾依（Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy）本身為巴基斯坦人，在她赴美念書後回國，多次拍攝關於巴基斯坦的真實故事，她希望藉由電影引起國際人道組織的注意，成為輿論迫使該國修改司法制度。她曾在2012年拍攝紀錄片「面容（Saving Face）」描寫巴基斯坦女人在婚姻受到丈夫的家暴的真實故事。丈夫若鄙棄妻子，可在她在臉上潑灑硫酸使之毀容。這部寫實紀錄片同樣問鼎奧斯卡獎項。

「巴基斯坦的社會對於女性並不友善。女性就像二等公民，律法似乎沒有保障她們生命安全。」奇諾依表示，莎芭的例子並不是家族內部的問題，她強調宗教的力量支配著這個國家的決策。

就在莎芭奇蹟生還後，警察逮捕了她的父親及叔叔，對於被控謀殺罪顯得不以為然，「一滴尿壞了一桶牛奶，她所做的事使我們家族顏面掃地，所以必須殺了她。」莎芭父親說，當他殺掉女兒後回家報告妻子，「她哭了，但她能怎樣呢？我是她的丈夫，她不能左右我的決定。」顯示巴基斯坦女性地位低落，母親連保護自己小孩的能力都沒有。

幾個月過去了，受害者家屬反過來要求莎芭寬恕兇手。她勉為其難的答應，心中仍恐懼著父親可能會再次追殺她。「莎芭的爸爸和叔叔後來就被釋放了。」奇諾依說，經歷這件事後，莎芭的父親在家族間的地位更崇高，絲亳沒有殺人犯的羞恥心。

如今《河中女孩：寬恕的代價》在國際大放異彩，已開始發揮人道組織聲援作用，也因此巴基斯坦總理謝里夫（Nawaz Sharif）日前公開承認會修改法律嚴厲打擊榮譽處決事件。

根據湯森路透基金會（Thomson Reuters Foundation）調查結果顯示，巴基斯坦是世界排名婦女生命受威脅的第3危險國家，有90％婦女面臨家暴。
